How much did your Nissen Fundoplication Procedure Cost?

Here in the Great White North, everything is covered. All pre-op tests and anything that is associated with Health Care are covered. If you want second opinions or have a re-test on any issue it too is covered. I waited 21 days to get my surgery date,(Jan 13) I am not superstitious. Post op care and having a face to face with a Dietitian after surgery and 7hrs. of Home nursing weekly for the first 2 weeks. My surgeon is a Thoracic surgeon who will be assisted by a G.I. specialist. I was given a disc which explained my surgery in layman terms. I have seen my surgeon 4 times in Dec-Jan, and I am quite knowledgeable about what may or may not occur post-op. Our health care system in Canada has taken a hit lately, and there are some waiting times which are acknowledged to be longer than all Canadians would like to see. I am of the opinion that a person needing Health Care must get involved in his care. You can navigate thru the health wilderness and let others tell you how it will go. But if you ask questions and aggressively speak for yourself, the wilderness will become much clearer and patient will receive the best care our Health System can provide. I can't predict how successful my surgery will be, however I know that I have done everything in my power to enter into surgery with a positive mind and knowing that everyone involved is on the same page.
