An update:
Went to have the endoscopy, spoke with the surgeon before the whole procedure and ended up not having one!
He thought it was too early for an endoscopy and that my earlier problems with my throat was a totally natural part of recovery. He said that he has done so many of these surgeries, and this is what to expect at 11 weeks (and before). I am welcome back if I need one, but for know he think I can wait.
Having a barium swallow on tuesday, and I´ll guess that will reveal if everything is okey. I am also going to ask my (other) surgeon for a PH-test, maybe they can perform one in a couple of months.
In one way I feel relieved, I HATE endoscopys and on top of that I felt nervous about the swelling and being so early in recovery. Maybe something could be damaged by putting, what I like to think, a garden hose down my esophagus? Plus all the retching during the procedure. And this surgeon is one of the best bariatric ones in Sweden, so it´s okey. Hope he knows what he´s doing.
I have also read about dysphagia and not beeing able to burp, and all of the symptoms of that are the same as the one I experience(d). Going to post some links on this later, knowing that there are others on this forum having issues with their throats.
Mine has been sore throat, phlegm, feeling of something stuck and so on. ALL that has lessen gradually, and in the last two weeks it has almost disapperd. BUT it has been a hard two months of constant issues with my throat. So there is hope all of you! I think that my problem can be that things are a bit tight... can not burp by choice and hardly at all, so I´ll guess things are tight... A nurse at the clinic said that the symptoms of tightness (swelling) could cause similar pain as the one above.
So, I will update on the barium swallow and the meeting with my surgeon in next week.
Thanks for your answers Bill!
