Hi folks,
I'm on Day 8 of sticking pretty close to the induction diet, except for several days of eating homemade veggie stew from the freezer with some garlic and onion in it. I've also been having trouble keeping my portions small. For years, we were in the habit of eating one very big meal a day, usually at noon, and I have to really work at eating a little but often.
I'm also trying to do this without prescription meds -- just Gaviscon at bedtime.
Consequently, my progress has been slow. Sore throat, hoarseness, fatigue, intermittent nausea and abdominal burning continued all week. (Does anyone else find the abdominal burning worse when sitting? I may have to start working at the computer standing up...)
Today things look better. My throat has not been sore all day, and the hoarseness is not as bad. My husband says my voice sounds clearer. Energy level is good; burps are fewer; flatulence gone. I'm trying to take Sunbeam's advice and not expect too much too soon.
By the way, it's interesting that low-acid seems to be catching on. I could be wrong, but it seems to me that only nuts-and-berries (aka crunchy granola) folks were preaching acid-alkali balance a decade or two ago. Now I see, for instance, that low-acid is recommended for interstitial cystitis, which I also seem to have.
