PPI rebound

I've posted my story before but basically I was diagnosed with GERD by accident when I had an Upper GI for something else. I wasn't treated since I had NO symptoms but 13 months later got an endoscopy showing errosive esophagitis. I was treated with PPI's for 3 months and have been off of them for 2 weeks now. My GI believes that my GERD was caused by the SSRI medication that I was taking, and also that it could have stopped me from being able to feel much pain, as they can sometimes act as an anagelesic (sp?).

So, I am two weeks of my PPI and experiencing rebound effects. Mostly a sour stomach and some reflux (actually, I've never had these symptoms before I got off the medicine!) So...I am wondering how long approximately I can expect these symptoms to last.

I have to go back for an endoscopy in 3 months and I don't want any reflux I may be having now to affect my results in 3 months. I don't want to rush back onto a PPI if I don't need it.

Any ideas about rebound?

I guess I am just concerned to postpone the endoscopy because what if I am having silent reflux, as is one possibility all along? Will putting off the endoscopy a few months be enough time for serious damage to be done?

Also, with the rebound reflux, if it is causing slight damage to my esophagus, once the rebound stops, assuming I don't have any other reflux, will it heal by itself? If so, how long should that take?
