Weaning off meds for upcoming reflux testing

I was just wondering of any of you were told to take Zantac three times a day to wean off your ppi? I stopped my Prevacid today after taking it for 7 months and am really worried, as I have to undergo manometry an ph testing on 3/1.

Is it safe to take three Zantac a day? If so, how should they be spaced?

Do you have to stop taking PPI for the PH test?

Faith, did they tell you which mg Zantac to take?

Yes, Zantac 150.

Speaking strictly for myself - if my doctor tells me it's okay, I would take it. I'd space it every eight hours. Might have to set an alarm but that's pretty evenly spaced.

And please let us know if the Zantac helped you. I would be very interested to know as I am weaning myself off the PPI but will need something besides Gaviscon.
