TetrisKing23Welcome to HealingWell. I am sorry to read of your concerns.
You posted, " I also have a history of generalized anxiety disorder and social anxiety and OCD" I am wondering what you are doing to deal with your anxiety as chest pain can be caused by many things and anxiety rates right up there at the top of the list. Add GERD to the mixture and you have several things going on that can cause chest pain besides a heart problem.
Yes, people have heart attacks but that does not mean you are going to have one. Try not to read anything that will trigger your mind into worrying about your heart and follow up with your PCP on a regular basis.
When your mind starts to wander into "what if?" thinking, distract Yourself! If you can find a task to occupy
yourself in the short term this can reduce anxiety and occupy your mind, e.g.
doing a crossword, counting (this is not a long term solution, however).
I would suggest that therapy would be helpful for you to learn to deal with your anxiety problems.
I wish you well,
Kitt
