Hello,
This
is my first time posting, and I will try and be quick. Any thoughts would be
greatly appreciated. I started having difficulty swallowing before xmas. Since,
it has gotten worse or so I believe. The inability to belch properly, shortness
of breath, congestion, and of course swallowing. I was a smoker for about 15
years, then a tobacco chewer until Jan. I also have a pretty consistent history
of panic disorder and anxiety, but don't take meds for it. I just had an upper GI done today, but the symptoms sound similar to GERD (hopefully that is all it is). My question is, is GERD something that flares up, or is it a just something that remains constant, because since noticing the swallowing problem before xmas, I would go weeks where everything seemed fine, then boom....a combination of the swallowing problem and massive panic resulting from this symptom. My concern is that I did not feel any heartburn just the swallowing issue and tightness in my chest...is that normal? Other than these symptoms, I am a fit 41 year-old. I exercise almost daily and don't eat crazy. As stated earlier, I do have anxiety issues, but this is the most concerned I have ever been. Any input on my ramblings would be appreciated
