In order to diagnose Sleep apnea, you need to spend the night in a sleep lab. I was surprised at my results, which were pretty severe. It was actually my ENT doctor who told me that my throat was very inflamed and encouraged me see my Gastro for a consult. The Cpap machine that I use every night was supposed to improve my night time reflux, but it was not unfortunately a cure. There does seem to be a link though with TMJ and sleep apnea and reflux that I had seen reading online before I had my surgery.
I just had my 7 week post-op check-up and am now cleared to eat whatever I want to!!
