I am so glad to hear you made it through your procedure with success. Now you can fully celebrate your Nissen anniversary. Would you say it has been a complete success? Do you ever get heartburn or LPR anymore? Can you eat trigger foods?

I am sorry to hear of your troubles with Lupus. I know people with that and it's no fun. Are you on a good med or still trying to get that situation figured out? There are some really good ones out there. Hopefully, you are going to a good rheumatologist who can help you sort through treatment options. You are pretty young (I think, right?) and need to be able to be active and happy. I am sure those things are in your future.

I am sorry to hear of your troubles with depression. In the past year, my health has taken me for a ride down sadness lane. I can't imagine having a condition whereby I was sad continuously. I will keep you in my prayers and hope for joy for you.

I have had an interesting weekend...I guess it was a lucky one b/c I was able to have a glass of white WINE...yes WINE on friday evening with no GERD/LPR. I also had a bit of my daughter's pizza and I have been taking Voltaren (NSAID) for the past 3 days in an effort to rid myself of this doggone bursitis in the back of my knee that I've had for 4 months. I am blessed and am praying that this good GERDless stint continues for a while longer. I really need to take this medicine for at least 7-10 days to see if I can get relief before opting for another cortisone injection. I really miss teaching spinning and don't want to give up any more of my classes so I am praying to heal. I am too young for bursitis...my grandma even ribbed me for having it :)

You know...being without the GERD for the recent past kind of tricks me into feeling like "maybe I am cured"...alas I can only wish that were true :(

Hi everyone

The job's going OK thanks Liz - this week will be a bit strange as it's the school holidays and I'm used to being with the boys of course. We've booked them into some sports courses etc, so hopefully they'll be too busy to miss me! I only work 3 days a week so there's still opportunity for 'quality time'!

Hope everyone is managing to plot a course through their various difficulties and tribulations - am thinking of everyone even when I don't have time to post.

Hi all-

Sorry for the disappearing act again. We are in the middle of a high school softball tourney in Myrtle Beach, but I had to make a quick get away to Tennessee due to a death in the family and didn't have any internet in the sticks.

Sandi- So glad all went well and good to hear things are getting better. Congrats on the 1 year anniversary!


Liz- I found out the 2 left ribs are completely floating and have been cautioned to not let them be hit or run into anything hard with them due to the chance of them going in and getting my lung. I am getting a second epidural on them on 4/10 after we get back home.

Kitt- We all know you want to be here and post every day, but we also understand you need to take care of you and we will be here to support you any way we can my friend.

Joy- Sorry to hear of the latest flare. I see my niece go through this a lot. Not nice!

Denise- You are doing such a wonderful job here helping the members. I want to thank you for picking up my slack.


I may be a bit scarce until 4/09 since we are going back to Tennessee to spend more time with family on Thursday and through the weekend.

I always tell others to ask for what they need so I am going to take my own advice today !  I need virtual hugs and lots of them.  Day 2 on medication switch and I am bouncing around mood wise.  One minute tears and next minute feeling hopeful.  

I hate this, I want to be here and be me not this stranger who is taking over my life.  I will not give up and I am the captain of my own ship.

Hang in there, Kitt. My sister is going through the exact thing right now. She's getting her medicine changed too. It does get bumpy, but you can make it through.

Sandi,   I took your advice and went to town yesterday but forgot the sun screen and I noticed today my nose is a bit sunburned - leave it to the lady with a tendency to develop skin cancers to forget  the sun screen.  Well my nose is colorful. I did feel good about making it out of the house all by myself ! Keep those hugs coming and I am sending you a big easter basket full of hugs.
