Avoid going to bed for 3 hours after eating
Let food and drinks cool before consumption
Take care with alcoholic drinks
Lose weight if overweight
Wear loose fitting clothes around abdomen
Stop smoking
Sleep on your left side
Elevate the head of the bed
Take acid suppression medication before vigorous exercise
