Grant,
Due to all the reading I did here prior to my surgery, AND from previous experience having surgery, I have taken the sloooow road to recovery. I am now 7 weeks past surgery, and basically doing really well. However, I did not return to work until after 4 weeks, and then I went in very part time. I have not added bread or steak to my diet yet, and don't plan to for at least another month. I take it VERY slow and easy on what I eat, and have learned that everyday is still an adventure. It is not uncommon to have days where I am extremely nauseated....those days I just go back to shakes and applesauce.
After surgery, our outsides heal quickly, but we have had MAJOR surgery. There are staples inside. I think you may have overdone it...and now you need to take baby steps to get back to where you were. From everything I've read here, the recovery process is 6 months to a year, so you are still very early in your healing. Give yourself time....and know that this too shall pass.
Good luck!
