I've never had acid reflux unless I simply over ate way too much, or I was extravagant with my orange juice intake. I had to earn the pain. Now I eat anything and my GI track is on fire, and I noticed it started when I moved and had less access to natural foods my father grew or butchered for us. I know that hormones cause the hatch to the GI track to loosen during pregnancy, and I also know milk, meats, and heated plastics contain hormones or false hormones that react like female hormones in our bodies. I feel the affects severely after meals when my mother in law cooks, because she pays no heed to what she puts in her food chemically, and I grew up not building tolerence. The less chemicals I eat, the less acid reflux I have. Could the abundance of GERD related to lactose, and unexplained onset of severe symptoms be related to the unadvertised content of our foods? I just know I was healthy, and now I can't seem to stop feeling sick, and it started when my free source of natural, home grown food stopped.
