GERD and "Juicy Mouth"?

Hi everyone. I'm a 49 year old male diagnosed with GERD, Gastritis, IBS, Lactose Intolerance and various other disorders (ie; GAD, Hypochondria, Panic Disorder, OCD, etc) as well as Allergic Rhinitis, Chronic Sinusitis and a Deviated Septum. I also have cervical arthritis with a bone spur at C-5/C-6 and I also have bad, worn-down teeth (I'm always grinding them).

For many years now (probably 7-8) I've had these on-again/off-again bouts where whenever I put food (or anything else) in my mouth, I produce extra saliva (no drooling though or anything like that). Now, of course you obviously DO produce extra saliva when you put anything in your mouth but in my case it's quite a bit more than it normally is for me which is why I call it "juicy mouth". This usually comes out of the blue and lasts a few weeks and then I'm back to normal again and producing normal amounts of saliva. I've gone through these bouts about 6-8 times in the last ten years and have no idea what causes them (maybe GERD? - although I don't have heartburn all the time). My throat also gets tight or feels "thickened", constricted or lumpy and sometimes scratchy. Also I feel like I'm getting hoarse sometimes but everyone around me tells me I'm not. Please no jokes (I have severe Hypochondria and trigger very easily).

The only med I'm taking is Atarax but I've had this even when I wasn't taking anything. I have had all kinds of tests, scans, seen lots of different specialists and been poked and prodded countless times over the years (and recently) and almost everything always seems to come back "normal".

Has anyone else every experienced this?. I just know that if nobody responds I'm probably going to be freaking out thinking I'm the only one on earth or somthing. If only I could be normal ):

NOTE: A few weeks ago I had the most severe burning in my stomach that it radiated up into my right side, causing intense pain and I ended up in the ER thinking I had pancreatis or a gall stone. I literally thought the end was near!. After an upper-body CT scan with contrast and numerous tests I was told that I had GERD which surprized me a LOT because I've had this for years and never knew it could get this bad or cause so many (sometimes very frightening) symptoms.

I was on Zantac and don't think it helped. Some wrong or and med in general can make it worse depending on the person

I get "juicy mouth" I'm not sure what triggers it exactly, but I think it may have to do with what tooth paste i use. I've just switched over to a cinnamon based tooth paste to get away from mint based tooth paste and it seems to make me drool more.

I am surprised and relieved to hear that I am not the only one with some of these symptoms. The extra saliva thing usually comes on in episodes that last a few weeks. I have it throughout the day but especially while eating. It does not seem to affect me while I'm asleep. I don't drool and my mouth doesn't get full or anything but I sometimes have to keep my mouth closed when working around food or being around people so it doesn't "squirt" out. I also have a molar that is slowly rotting away (but not infected) and I get a really strong metallic taste from it all the time. I also have GERD, IBS, Gastritis and am lactose intolerant. Sometimes I do get heartburn but even when I don't, I still have this extra saliva issue. Not sure if any of this makes sense. Like right now I don't have any extra saliva but 5 minutes from now I could start producing more and have to keep swallowing. Again, I hope this makes sense. Is this what you folks are going through as well?.
