Interesting study of using Rikkunsh ito for GERD.
I've been trying to search online .. but am unable to find information on where and how to obtain Rikkunsh ito. Any pointers on how to obtain this herb in the US will be greatly appreciated.
In the city I live, I am able to get my hands on the Chinese traditional medicine from which "Rikkunsh ito" is derived. I think the Japanese went one step ahead and did several studies and trials on these traditional herbs. I think they have a different, improved formulation after identifying the more potent ingredients in the old formulation.

Traditional Japanese herbal, or Kampo medicine was developed and modified from Chinese herbal medicine. After the Japanese government approved Kampo for clinical use, much attention has been paid to establishing scientific evidence for the effectiveness of these medicines. Recent progress has been made in elucidating the mechanisms of action of some types of Kampo medicine, including "rikkunsh ito" (RKT), daikenchuto, and yokukansan.
I think the only way to get this "Rikkunshi ito" is to buy from Japan.
