Hi everyone
I promised I would post this study last year when it was fresh, but I forgot because I was researching so much and I was working on other things with my Naturopathic doctor.
I know some of you like studies and do not want to take any natural remedy, but this may shed some light on some of your doubts about
them.
I am posting a a journal article by a naturopathic doctor. It specifically goes over natural supplements with studies, trials, efficiency etc. some studies are small some are big. You may have heard of some and you may have tried one or two.
It consists of chiropractic study, melatonin study, honeysuckle (mice), iberogast, d-limonene, Artemesi Asiatica, curcumin/quercitin and cut E. and it also goes over the obvious treatments such as ppis and acid reducers.
Just to let you know, I tried the melatonin for 29 days, but didnt feel different. I've read in other forums that this actually does work, but it can potentially lead to an autoimmune disease. This purely anecdotal though, and this was 1 year ago.
I have not tried the others because we took a different route for my case with my Naturopathic.
Here is the link and please ppl, tell me what you think, you have tried, and will try. I am only posting the study for everyone to read I am not giving any advice on what to do or take.
By the way, I am not cured by no means yet, I am still trying different things.
Here it is:

Thanks Nickles, I appreciate you having shared this.
I just skimmed it with an eye towards a few parts and learned some new things. Thanks!

Your welcome ARM. I was a little selfish and lazy for not posting this earlier. I just hope these studies help someone. If people notice there are citations and studies so is not just a bunch bologna or anecdotal.
Let me know what you have tried or are willin to try.

Have you seen the study MMM?
I was really intrigued by the melatonin study a year ago when I saw it. However, after I kept reading about
melatonin I just kept thinking of becoming dependent on melatonin. Anyways, I really loved the article, but this journal has many more articles. They have articles on other issues too.
I am glad ppl are reading it. Has anyone tries anything though or are they looking to try anything?

Thanks Nickles - just dropped in and not read it yet.
We can't get melatonin here, just 5-HT which made me drowsy when I tried it. I don't think I gave it a fair trial though. Currently I'm a little helped by milk thistle and acupuncture, I've had about
a month without nausea now and the milk thistle helps the reflux. I have a feeling some of my symptoms are caused by the PPIs but I am yet to feel well enough to chance a reduction in dose!
Will have a read and report back!

The article is a really good overview. I'm familiar with the acupuncture report, which is why I started having acupuncture. Melatonin and Iberogast I have wanted to try but they are unavailable in the UK. I find the majority of supplements aggravate my gastritis, D limonene certainly did. Interesting how apple cider vinegar DOESN'T appear in that article by the way!
As regards weight loss, has anyone read whether weight loss helps if you have a normal BMI? Has anyone felt better for losing some weight even though they were not officially "obese"? I am currently trying to lose a little, just to get back to what used to be my usual weight, in case it helps the hernia.
