Hi x,Happy Thanksgiving! I had a Nissen fundoplication in February 2009, and at that time I was provided with excellent advice from my surgeon. He told me that I could eat anything that could be "chewed to a liquid". I suggest you follow that rule at your Thanksgiving dinner and you'll do just fine. If it worked for me during my post-Nissen early recovery, it will work for you as you gradually return to normal eating.
The key to eating success is to take small bites and chew, chew, chew, until whatever you're eating is a smooth, creamy, "liquid" consistency. Thus, you teeth/mouth become your blender, which in my estimation is much more enjoyable, as the chewing and tasting of food is the best part!
Eat slowly, chew carefully, and don't eat anything that doesn't chew completely.
That's a recipe for eating success. Enjoy your delicious Thanksgiving meal!
Very best wishes,
Denise
