Got my results back from my EGD today & still have hpylori and relaxed LES:(

After two weeks of waiting for my results they finally called today to tell me everything else looked ok just mild gastiritis and I still have the hpylori :( so they want me to do two of the same antibiotics I did before because I told her I couldn't do the flagyl it makes me too sick and gives me anxiety so she said I can just go the other two. When I talked to the gi doc last he said he wouldn't do the antibiotics for hpylori if he had it because that's probably what caused all these other symptoms and the gerd. I know if I don't treat it it can turn out bad but I hate antibiotics they make me sick and I do feel like they were the cause of my gerd. Of course I'm going to do it but who's to say it will go away I already did three different antibiotics last time and it didn't go away now I'm going to only do 2 out of the 3 will it even work?? Oh and wants me back on the prevacid or aciphex... I just want to cry right now ok I am crying already lol this sucks. I'm going on vacation next Saturday to DC to spend Thanksgiving with my aunt so I'm definitely not starting them until I get back but I really don't want to... I'm pretty sure I have read manuka honey can help treat hpylori so I guess I will be getting some as well as all the other stuff I'm taking. Thanks for listening, any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Take Broccoli pills and eat it daily while taking the ABX. It got rid of my H-Pylori, and I am a firm believer that this is a key to the reason why.....

I'm trying to understand your post.  Did you get tested by a surgeon, or your GI doc?  You said that your GI doc said that he/she wouldn't take the antibiotic because it is hard on your stomach.  Who is telling you to take it?

You are so right that antibiotics can wreak havoc on your stomach.  I can only take two that I know of without getting terrible gastritis (Z-Pac/zithromax and Amoxicillin).  Once I was actually hospitalized after taking Augmentin.  I got such terrible gastritis that it set off a case of uncontrollable asthma.  I try hard not to take antibiotics.  (Actually I just started one, as my allergies throughout the spring/summer/fall have left me with terrible sinuses and a bad cough...I'm hoping it will help.)

I hope you can get yourself cleared up soon.

That clarifies it.  I feel for you about taking antibiotics.  I always react badly to them.

Good luck with getting the hpylori cleared up.  I doubt that your gastritis is going to get better until you're done with the antibiotic for a while.  Hang in there.

I took PrevPac and then the one with Flagyl (mind is blanking). While I took the one with Flagyl, I loaded up on Broccoli, taking the pills once 2x daily, as well as eating it in one meal a day (all for 2 weeks). Then I took the pills daily for another month. Broccoli sprouts have been shown to inhibit the growth of H-Pylori.....worth a shot, IMO. You gotta take Flagyl though, it seems most potent against H-Pylori....all ABX (antibiotics) mess me up, but that one doesn't bother me.....
