29 days post-op, nausia, head cold, coughing/sneezing PAIN!

Hi everyone!

I'm 29 days post-op today. Have been experiencing severe nausia for the past 5 days. Also, last night developed what I think is just a head cold. However, been coughing and sneezing, which is causing a great deal of pain. I'm using a pillow when I cough or sneeze, but the pain is bad when either occurs.  I have notified my primary care phys. and also my surgeons office.  My appetite has been sucking for over a week.  Still sucking down Ensure drinks and having mashed potatoes with some gravy. I have absolutely no energy and haven't been going for walks at night because I'm exhausted (probably from the healing and lack of eating).  I'm sooo miserable.  Any suggestions from anyone?  rolleyes Thanks and God Bless!

Hi Michelle,
It sounds like you have a crappy rolleyes virus. Believe me there are alot of virus's going around this time of year. Rest drink plenty of fluids and get better fast. I am 29 days post op too. So far lucky I have not met with my first post op virus yet. Hope not. At least we are not before 2 weeks op sick. That would be terrible too.

Do you have any antinausea meds left? I'd take it to keep from having any problems.

Hi Michelle,

Sorry you're feeling so sick!  I can reassure you on one point. While the coughing hurts (try ice...it worked well for me) you don't have to worry that it will harm your wrap.  I coughed from Day 1 until about two and a half months out, and my wrap remained intact.  I know it can be a concern--it certainly was for me.
