Yolee. I believe Prilosec is an PPI and Zantac is an H2 antagonist. Two different kinds of medications. I've found that Zantac works quickly and have heard that many people take both classes but not together at the same time. Some have better relief when Zantac taken when you hit the bed. I guess other members wil be giving you their usage schedules of these medications . Hope you find some help very soon. And some peaceful understanding by family members. BTW-- have you tried small amount of arm&hamner baking soda in some water--I use 1/3 tsp in 16 oz tap water and it helps by sipping it. It's alkalinizing--as tap water is fairly neutral and this might save expense of Evamor--but must be aware that it s not for sodium restricted. As always check out suggestions with your PCP, if you can get an answer from him/her. Wish you well and you take care too. Bumper
