Thank you, Denise!
I was right! Dexilant (and sadly all the other PPI"s) was doing more harm than good for me. I got into my new GI yesterday and he did say that there are a group of individuals who cannot take the ppi's since they increase more acid in their systems and make them worse (Woo Hoo Lucky Me, right? I'm one of them). Thanks for your suggestions. I kind of thought that after 3 weeks of a PPI especially the Dexilant, that I shouldnt have been getting sicker, and yes, I was going nutty, too. Horrible headaches (never ever did I get headaches), felt like I was crawling out of my skin, sobbing all the time, not able to even make up a bed or pick up clothing off the floor (not like me since I'm pretty OCD about how clean and orderly my house is :o)! That's probably part of the gerd issues too.
Im off the ppi's and I see him in a week. Just on the Carafate (helps a bit with coating the inflamed esophagus) and zantac 150 2 x day. I also am gluten free and acid free, two. But Now I feel like I'm belching all the time. I'm so tired of this all. I'll keep trying to keep the faith, include the natural alternatives, stay gluten free (I have the celiac gene, but first GI didn't even biopsy me for that and she knew I had the gene. Oy!!!! Does this ever get better. Is there a reason they just can't do some type of surgery on me to get rid of the reflux?
Thanks for all your wonderful support here on this forum. I hope you are well and stay well. You sound like your a Vet. We thank you for your support! :o)
