Hi OpTiCz,Welcome to the Healing Well Wrapped Club. As you can see we've got quite a few experienced members who are happy to provide information and support. You're in a great place to get information and help from others who've "been there, done that".
As far as diet recommendations from your doctor, they sound just fine. As you'll hear, surgeons vary widely in their recommendations for eating. Mine was one that was very liberal, and I'm thankful for that. When your doctor sets you free to advance your diet at your own rate, it requires more responsibility on your part, but it can be a much more enjoyable way to recover.
Here's a link to my early recovery journal:

It should help you get an idea of what you might expect. As Joy said, your wrap will become increasingly more swollen over the next two weeks, so you'll want to be sure that you eat tiny bites and chew, chew, chew, until whatever you're eating is a "liquid"/creamy consistency. Don't be surprised if your swallowing gets worse before it gets better. Once you reach peak swelling it will begin to subside again and you're on your way to recovery!
Toasted bread is easier to chew to a liquid than untoasted. Avoid that for 8 weeks or so. Only eat things that can be chewed to a liquid.
Hang in there...you're in the roughest part of recovery. It gets better!
If you can surrender to your recovery and follow its lead, you'll find it much easier. Go with the flow, and accept what is. You can't rush this. Your body will heal and recover at its own pace. The more you accept that, the easier your recovery will be.
Happy healing!
Denise
