I just tried what lealyn said. I too have had this issue for well over a year. It's caused sleepless nights, dizziness, and a plethora of other very troubling issues, to say nothing of the inconvenience of the burping itself.
I pictured doctors visits aplenty, surgery, pills, the whole nine yards . . but
breathing? I tried breathing as deep as I could ten times, and quickly there was a large reduction in my burping. It's still happening a little bit, but I'll come back and inform the rest of you if it keeps up with more practice.
Could you imagine if all we had to do to fix this was a freakin' breathing exercise?!?! This has been a nightmare!
Edit: I should mention that this *could* mean that our issues are stemming from a hiatus hernia, a stretching of the stomach above the diaphragm, something that could be caused by a weak diaphragm. It's something to look into.
