So, I have no idea what it's wrong with me. My bravo test was done while on 40 mg of protonix in the morning and 150mg zantac at night. I was expecting to have tons of reflux, since I had constant symptoms, chest tightness, red throat, stomach burning, stinging and burning in the esophagus.

 When I got my results back, I was shocked. First day zero reflux, second day two reflux episodes lasting 9 and 16 minutes. Total score 0.2. My GI looked at me like I'm crazy. The medicine is totally working, so why I still have all this chest tightness and burning sensation. Also, during the bravo test, I had a lot of chocolate and milk products, just to test it.

 After that I tried to decrease my ppi and take only zantac, my stomach was not burning as much, chest tightness wasn't that bad, but I started to get horrible heartburn and my throat started to burn, and hurt, so now the left side of my throat hurts like somebody is constantly pushing there.

 I went back to my ppi, and the throat burn stopped but I still have this ball in the throat feeling.

 What I don't understand is my stomach problems, I can not put any pressure on my stomach because it starts burning and hurting, I can not sleep on the sides (left is the worse), because the burning, nausea starts. As soon as I change to my back it goes away. Never had this in my life, can gastritis be this bad?

 My endoscopy showed perfectly pink stomach and esophagus, so my doctor said that there is nothing else he can do for me.

Consider a treatment for hypersensitive esophagus, e.g. Elavil 25mg, it may help quickly.

You might have gall bladder issues. My mother's stomach hurt her like that and they found out she had a blocked duct in her gall bladder.

I tried the amitriptyline 10 mg, and it didn't help, my stomach started to burn, but I might give it another try

I don't know if it's my gallbladder, the ct scan and ultrasound came back ok

They can not find anything else beside gastritis and reflux, I was just wondering if anybody had this bad gastritis and if it got better

You may want to look into having a Restech test for LPR. I was in the same boat. Perfect endoscopy and a .2 Deemester with 6 "weakly" acidic events.

I contacted Restech and they sent me a list of providers in my area. My Restech showed 26 episodes of aerosolized reflux events. drtinsac has a Restech thread you can read up on.

what does it mean aerosolized reflux? is that acid or acid vapors?
so what are you doing about it, did u increase your ppi or getting one of the surgeries?

That's how it is for me as well. Bravo shows normal reflux, but the restech says that I'm positive for reflux. It's quite annoying having GI doctors who don't know what's going on. They seem to always contradict ent's opinions/views. Best bet is to probably find a GI doctor who's aware of extraesophageal reflux.

My tests also came back clear and I had the Restech! I was positive that would be the clincher that would prove it. The only thing they did find is my LES tightens up. So, how do I still have all these symptoms, tight throat, chest pains, major breathing trouble, vapors,GLOBUS , food going down slow....

I will say when I had the 24 hour ph and the Restech together, I barely had any symptoms. Figures.

Not sure what to do. My worst symptom is my breathing which is really putting a damper on my life.

I was prescribed librax at one point but have not taken it. Still take Zantac, gaviscon uk, digestive enzymes

Aerosolized reflux is vaporized acid. Lifestyle changes along with the Koufman diet helped a little but not enough to get me off PPI's and Pepcid. My ENT suggested I increase my PPI dosage but I experienced side effects immediately.

Since I'm only about seven months into my LPR symptoms I'm going to leave no stone unturned before considering surgical options.

Yeah for sure. Do everything you can before resorting to surgery. I had the TIF done, and for some reason now I have breathing problems and PPI's don't work anymore. In fact they make everything worse. It sucks being 23 and looking at a future of living with this.

Chewing gum recently has helped me out whenever I have flare ups, but holy crap does that hurt my jaw after a day long of chewing haha.

How did they find that your LES tightens up? was it during the bravo test?

Zantac doesn't do much for me, why you don't try a ppi in the morning and zantac at night?

I totally understand you, the worse are the vapors, suddenly I can start feeling very warm in my throat and then I start getting the pain, I really don't know what to do about it, it really doesn't matter what i eat :((

They found this on the manometry test.This is what he said "a hypertensive poorly relaxing lower esophageal sphincter". "High residual pressure in her lower esophagus and a near hypertensive lower esophageal sphincter".
So, we're sitting tight for now. Treatment would be the same as for achalasia, Botox, stretching it or an operation which cuts it.

I did have the restech done after my TIF and Before. My reflux was actually worse post TIF according to the restech.

Also, I suffer from vapors too! It's absolutely horrible. It burns my throat and my sinuses really bad. I'm hoping to have the nissen to done to correct this because there's no way I can live 60 plus years being in pain everyday. I'm an athletic 23 year old. This condition has destroyed what I knew and enjoyed in my life. I'll do anything to get this under control.

Anyways, I have been refereed to a doctor in Madison WI. Hopefully their more knowledgeable then the doctors in my area about our conditions.
