Mylanta wearing off too soon, help please.

I've been using mylanta to keep the pain in my chest at bay but is's only lasting about 2hours. Is there anything else I can do?

Probably best to take something that is 24 hours like Prevacid. Mylanta is just a short, temporary fix. :(
