(No Subject)

So, I am just wondering if I am normal to be scared to death to have this surgery. I have done my research and it seems that there are those who love it and those who are miserable. What bothers me the most is that I had one of the top surgeons in my area and my insurance will not approve me to see him. So I am going to see a Kaiser surgeon. I have HUGE reservations about all of this. I have had surgery before but I imagine this will be nothing like the others but I think they are all connected one way or another. Appendectomy -1999, Gall bladder 2007, now awful GERD. Can't stand it anymore. Like most it is really affecting my life in every aspect. I know I need to do something but who to have do it is my question. Do I meet this surgeon and see how it feels or do i try more to get in with the original Dr.? So many thoughts and fears. Any suggestions? Since I have Kaiser my options are limited.

I think it is normal to be scared to death to have any surgery. I had my NF done on 02/07 and am progressing pretty well. I still worry if this was the best decision. I will say that I have not had even the slightest twinge of GERD since surgery but did I jump the gun? We shall see.
