flashing lights

Hi everyone, although I have been a member on here for years I have not posted because my condition has stayed fairly stable with ups and downs. I have been on Omeprazole/Lanzoprazole for 11 years and have developed something and I wondered if it is a side effect of the tablets. I have been having problems with my eyes. Flashing lights, like cog wheels in my vision. Lasts about 20 minutes and then gradually subsides. Been diagnosed as eye migraine. I might be completely wrong but just wondered if anyone else has experienced anything like it. Let's face it we are all guinea pigs with this medication.

I was on omeprazole for probably 5 years, then was switched, Nexium, and Protonix, and have taken PPIs for probably 17 years, and haven't experienced that at all.  Sorry to hear you're having the problem. 

I can say that during that time I had one eye migrane episode that lasted a few minutes and disappeared, leaving me with a headache. That was the only time, though.  I don't think it had anything to do with the medication.  I wonder if another PPI would be worth a try.
