Good Morning,I recently went through 6 months of chemo and was premedicated with Ondansetron HCL and given 8mg tabs to use at home. I did not have good luck with this drug either.
My oncologist switched my nausea med to Prochlorperazine 10mg tabs every 6 hours as needed and this medication worked much better for me. For premed I was given Aloxi IV. ALOXI (palonosetron hydrochloride) is a long acting (48 hours) antiemetic and antinauseant agent used primarily for people on chemo.
Each of us is different and there are many choices available for you DR. to choose from so please do contact him and explain how nauseated you are. Nobody should have to go through this all day long. I understand your problems and hope you will find something that helps.
Kindly,
Kitt
