Gail, Glad your computer is still working enough to post. Can you drink smoothies for the constipation. That may help too especially with some greens in them. That's good news about
the A1C test. Hopefully you will be getting more good news soon.
Chris, it is tough when we lose weight. I went from 107 to below 90 pounds in 2011. I actually stopped weighing when I hit 90 pounds. The ER doc thought for sure I had cancer. The thing is we don't just lose fat we lose muscle mass as well. I was really bummed to find that out. Just remember you need protein to build the muscle back up. Protein is one of the hardest things for me to digest, hence I drink protein drinks daily. When you are better you will get your strength back, and you will get better. Don't even worry about
the ppi's now, just get better first. You can always stop the ppi's later.
Viv, I would think waking up to a sour taste would not be pleasant. I am tweaking my diet constantly. It is never ending trying to find the right foods, cooked the right way, eaten at the right time of day, etc, etc. I am looking into the
Nourishing Traditons cookbook. Basically eating food that is fermented to begin with so it is easily digested. That will be interesting to see if I can eat those food.
Supposedly it is really good for gastroparesis and may go well with the Fast Track diet.
Today has been another good day. Thank goodness. I see the GI on Friday and I would hate to say, "I stopped the meds and am doing miserable". He would not be happy. He was very pleased with my last EGD; I'm sure he wouldn't appreciate if I messed myself up again. I'm just going to take it slow this time, really.
