What's the worst thing for LPR?

If you could only make one lifestyle change with an LPR diagnosis,
what's the most important thing you would do from the following options:

Raising your bed
Avoiding alcohol
Avoiding chocolate
No bedtime snacks

simply not an option for me.

My symptoms are very mild, so I really
don't think I'm ready for surgery. My ENT
didn't even mention prescribing any medication.

May I ask you...after the surgery, did you still
need to follow the restricted diet, no bedtime snack
regimen?

that is surely great to read that you have had a successfull OP but....why are you still on this forum?
I guess if I got better I would prefer to forget this all as the worst nightmare...

Mellowrose, after the recovery from the surgery life was normal again. :)

Shelion, I feel like there is too many complainers out there because something went wrong with their surgery. It was either from chosing the wrong doctor, not following the recovery diet, or messing up their wrap by doing a no-no. They were lacking in the information needed to have a good result.
These people scare others from going forward with the surgery. I want others to know that the surgery is the best thing that ever happened to me.
Some people are not aware there is even a surgery for GERD.
Before I came here I only heard horror stories about the surgery. But Bill, Dencha, and StKitt all helped me understand the surgery and how to recover from it. They calmed my fears and kept me fully informed on everything about it. I like to pop in here sometimes and help people who seemed to need my knowledge about the surgery.

Hello! Couchtater, can you please tell me what kind of surgery have you done? How long have u had Gerd before considering surgery? And what symptoms have u had? I' m currently suffering with heartburn, just that. I used to have lots of burping and lots of throat pain 2 months ago (when I was diagnosed with gerd) with heartburn as well but now I don't have the burp and the throat pain so I hope that heartburn will stop as well! When I follow my blant diet it's ok but when I eat sth new, it's heartburn :( I don't want to take ppi for the rest of my life, that's y I'm trying with diet and lifestyle changes

Saggitarius Girl, thanks! When I asked my ENT if I could have "a small amount of chocolate occasionally," he said to avoid it completely -- forever. I'm already on a restricted diet (for other reasons) -- and chocolate was the one treat I'd enjoyed.
