Hello guys! I'm new in the Gerd/heartburn forum so I wanted to say a big hi to all of u! I'm 28 and I've been diagnosed with Gerd 2 months ago after heavy pain under my breastbone, nausea, extreme burping, quick heartbeat after eating specific foods (that contained black pepper or were too heavy). I didn't have a clue about acid reflux, like most of u in the beginning, but I'm turning into a pro! I've started my treatment with Controloc 40 2 times daily for about 3 weeks, and during the 2nd week I was feeling better. But since I've read that this kind of medicine should not be continued for more than 2-3 week period (docs don't always say that), I stopped using them and then i had a lot of acid rebound and started having real heartburn! Then i went to a dietician who prepared a blant diet for me. Since following the diet I feel better, but whenever I eat sth which is not on the diet I suffer afterwards :( So I try to follow the diet as strictly as I can, even if I don't feel very normal lately (for example going to bars and drinking water!!). I want to ask you from your experience with Gerd, if at some point after following a blant diet for a long time, the les valve and esophagus is healed? And if you can have a normal lifestyle? (Healthy diet but being able to eat some chocolate and drink some alcohol) without worrying about having heartburn afterwards? I would be very happy to read your experience! Thanks!
