I am sorry to hear about
your suffering. Both myself and my twin sister (who lives with me) have been having esophageal spasms for weeks. Hers is due to spontaneous gastroparesis and mine due to recovery from a Nissen Fundoplication. I have found these 3 medications to be most effective in treatment: Nitroglycerin sublingual - immediately relieves the pain.
Calcium Channel Blocker: Nifedipine - long term treatment and a preventive
Valium: helps to prevent spasms as well.
Hope this helps.
