ThomasP - When does the chest pain start? Is it constant? Have you had manometry and pH probe? Are you seeing a GI doc or a family care doc?
Hi Oshobad,
Thanks for the reply.
I frequently get the chest pain in the morning after waking up but lately it has also been waking me up in the middle of the night. It mostly also occurs during the evening though I do sometimes get bouts of it during the day. The pain is located in the centre of the chest and radiates up to the neck. Its a constant soreness type of pain and can last for many hours and comes on slowly. The chest can feel cold when I get the pain and I get relief by applying hot compresses.
I haven't had a manometry or pH probe, only an endoscopy which showed Stage A esophagitis and mild gastritis but no hiatial hernia. There was no evidence of bile in my stomach when they did the endoscopy so my doctor thinks it must be acid reflux that damaged the esophagus.
I'm not seeing a specialist but a general practitioner.
