Hi Sandi!Sorry I've been MIA...we went on a little vacation get-away to celebrate our 40th anniversary, and when we came back had all kinds of demands and things we needed to catch up on...my son turned 36, and we had a birthday party for him with all the family, we had lots of babysitting duty (he coaches girl's Varsity Basketball, and has fall b'ball leagues and open gyms and his wife (a PA) works at an urgent care and has lots of strange hours that make it necessary for grandma and grandpa to step in and help out.)
In fact, next week, our babysitting schedule makes our heads spin. We're taking over for open gym, fall basketball league, and open house at the high school where my son teaches, and on the weekend, he's going away for a basketball coaching clinic, and his wife is teaching a class in Washington DC, so we have then all weekend as well! Yikes! I guess it'll either keep us young or kill us! Our son really appreciates our help, and often tells us that he couldn't coach if it weren't for our help. That is very true.
On top of all that, I'm tutoring (and preparing for) five students now, as well as spending a day a week in my other son's third grade classroom, so I can keep my finger in teaching and help him out! I enjoy it, but there's another day that is spoken for! Needless to say, I'm keeping super, super busy in retirement!
Your story about your little granddaughter warms my heart. I'm sure it was a key to speeding up your recovery! I can just picture it. <3
That prednosone can do a number on so many things...sorry to hear it sent you into a tailspin. Glad to hear things are back in control, though!
It's wonderful to see you here on the forum again! You've been missed greatly!
Have a wonderful day, and keep looking for those rainbows! Whenever I'm lucky enough to see one, I think of you!
