I am new to this site, and I have posted a few things, in a couple of different forums. I have to say that I do like this site, and I am thankful that there are people to talk to. Especially for some of us who are still trying to figure out what our ailment could be. Going through alot of these posts are encouraging, knowing that other people have the same issues, and can help you. My problem is that I am a little discouraged, because I have posted some questions,  and symptoms, and haven't had any replies. How are we supposed to get any advice if nobody answers. I know nobody is obligated to say anything really, but it would be nice to hear from anyone who has similar symptoms or issues, so we don't feel alone. Thank you for listening.

I am sorry that you have not had a response as yet from your posts.. Please do not give up.. this is a very busy forum and the moderators try to touch on new posts but some times they can't get to them all.. please reiterate your issues and see if we can't get this going for you to get some answers..

When I first posted it was because I came across this website, and saw other people have issues similar to mine. I am posting on this one, because I know I have acid reflux. I am also posting on the multiple sclorosis one too. Not that I have MS. but reading between the gerd forum and the MS forum, I have symptoms between them both. I see a neurologist thursday and I am hoping to get some solid answers. I posted the other day because I really needed someone to calm me down, and reassure me I'd be okay. I am pretty sure after reading stuff on this whole site on different forums, I think I have something going on with my vagus nerve maybe. If not some kind of nerve disorder. I had some serious acid reflux the other night, and I feel like I"ve been having a pinched nerve with it. I couldn't get any relief. Then I get scared and panic and then make my anxiety worse. Then my nerve was acting up and I was getting numb and tingly and feels like shocking through my body sometimes. It's so aggrevating because I have been to every specialist and seems like I have had every test, and the only thing they say, is oh it's anxiety, and I now have IBS. It's so hard to tell people you don't feel good, and they look at you like your crazy. Because you look fine, all your blood work comes out fine. Yet your body is feeling all weird. I'm happy with this site, I was just discouraged because I needed an ear, and didn't have one. Thanks for replying.

I replied on your original GERD post. Your symptoms sounded unique. It could be no one has been on this page that could relate to the combination of issues you mentioned.

I completely understand about looking normal, but feeling bad. Some university hospitals and Mayo Clinic offer complete physicals. Maybe you could consider looking into something like that, where you'll find highly trained and specialized doctors, up on the latest information in their fields. That is the process I started myself last year, but I got very ill with pneumonia, sinus infection and chronic bronchitis before I finished scheduling it and finally got proper diagnoses locally.

You have to really be strong and advocate for yourself with health care. With the way it's going in our country, it's only getting worse.

I am a new member. I have had similiar symptoms as well. Numb and tingling feeling starting in my chest radiating to both arms and occasionally up my neck. Then of course i would get anxious and not be able to breath. It is definety anxiety fron the avid reflux. I always thought the stomach acid aggravated the nerve endings in your throat that caused this. Taking a bath or stepping outside helped a little. Also knowing its anxiety helps so much. i currently take lorezapam .5 mg 2x a day. Lorezapam even helps my acid refux. My doctor said it acts on the nerve endings in your stomach.

I hope you find aswers soon. i have been sick for 5 months and have seen many doctors and had many tests and still no answers. Its frustrating.

Thank you all very much, like I said hearing from other people always makes it easier to deal with. I do have an appointment with the neurologist tomorrow, and I'm hoping I will get something figured out. I am tired of one thing appearing after another, with no answers.

I suggest typing up your medical history. Put it in date order - bullet points for each date or something similar - so it's easy for a nurse and doctor to follow. Bold and underline major conditions, illnesses, tests, surgeries, diagnoses.

Include a list of all medications and supplements you currently take.

Take this with you to each doctor visit. Keep it updated.

I keep it in a folder, along with important test results as ordered by all my doctors. I also make sure to get the doctor's report for each visit. This is not available at your appointment, but you can call and request it a few days later. I can then show these reports to other doctors.

This will help you remember to discuss anything important (and maybe things you think might be unrelated, but actually are!).

I have done this for 2 years now, I wish I had started it much sooner. It has really helped with getting accurate diagnoses and treatment for my conditions. The nurses are always thankful I have it, it makes their job easier prepping for the doctor.
