Hello all,

Just wanted to introduce myself, I am Dave, I'm in the Navy stationed in Washington state and I am in the early pre-op stages of getting the Nissen Fundoplication surgery. The next step for me is the Ph/manometry tests then I should be slated for the surgery. I have been plagued with GERD/hiatal hernia for approximately 4 years. I was just diagnosed with having Barrets Esophagus. This site was metioned while I was watching a youtube video on the Ph/manometry tests. Just wanting to get some insight as to what I can expect and maybe get some tips/pointers as I go through this process.

Hey Dave!
I am 29 and had a nissen two months ago. I feel great!

I have a journal on here and so do a few other people who recently had nissens. Denise and Bill, two mods on here have had them as well and I dont know what I would have done without them and their wisdom along with Tony G and countless others who helped me along the way.

Thank you for the links. I was stationed at Whidbey from 2004-2007. My wife and I love the area!! I'm stationed in Everett now, not as nice as Whidbey but it is what it is I guess. I look forward to reading and getting well acquainted with what I am about to face.
