Just back from Nissen redo

 Hi everyone,just got back home yesterday from my nissen redo.i had a 360 nissen taken down and redone to 200 degree wrap.All went well,i arrived at hospital on Monday afternoon,op was done the next morning and took two hours to complete. Surgeon told me my wrap was herniated and the wrap was quite large and stretched at the front where the two parts of the stomach meet.He says my op went very well and I should notice a difference with two months.

Hi baza glad to hear your op went good, now you are home rest up and have a good recovery. I`m in the process of having tests as I have had my symptoms return 9 years after my nissen. I have found a Consultant in Derby who told me the op could be re-done after being told by so many that this was not the case!

Baza, Good luck with the recovery.

I don't suppose you heard anything about NUGITS involvement with Endostim?

hi reet, glad you've found a surgeon that can redo it for.I was being told the same that it cant be redone,goes to show its just a matter of finding the right person. Hope all goes well for you! Barry

Hiya Phil, no im sorry I completely forgot to ask,i seen Proff.Attwood on the ward too! Ive to go back for my follow up at Christmas, ill ask about it then. I must have just be so concerned about my surgery it left my mind. Barry

Hi Baza, sorry, that was a bit selfish and insensitive of me to enquire at this time. It could have waited!

Assuming you are now back in NI, you have also had the burden of a long journey. I have followed your story for some time and truly wish you all the best and good health.

I have to say that the care and treatment I received in Newcastle by the Nugits team was exceptional! I cant thank them enough.
