180 degree partial wrap

I am new here and posted today about making a decision re:tif v partial wrap. 

Wondering now if anyone here has had an experience with a 180 degree wrap?  My surgeon is recommending that rather than a full or partial 270 degree.

Thanks for the response!  So, you originally had a 360 and they did a redo to a 200?  Would that be an unwrap of sorts?  Did you have manometry before the first surgery?  

Have had 5 tests (barium, manometry, 24 hr impedance, TNE, Bravo) in addition to my original endoscopy which diagnosed a hiatal hernia.  Have a slight motility issue with LES-the surgeon described it as the train arriving at the station and it taking a few seconds for the doors to open.  Am scheduled for a stomach emptying test and gallbladder test to make sure neither of those are causing my issues before we proceed with surgery. Slight swallowing issues and big issue with phlegm, pressure, bloating and throat clearing, rarely heartburn. 

Great to hear that you feel a difference, hope your recovery is quick!  when did you have your second wrap?

Thanks Barry. I don't normally share online but this forum has incredibly valuable information and it is powerful (and truthfully a bit terrifying) to hear from those who have gone before.

It is amazing that they can undo a 360 wrap but I'm guessing this must make for an even tougher post-op experience so sending lots of healing thoughts your way. Best wishes that you recover quickly!

So sorry you had a less than thorough surgeon for your first nf. We want to believe that our doctors know best but had what was supposed to be minor surgery years ago without doing much research and learned the hard way not to let anyone cut into me without checking them out thoroughly. With that hard earned knowledge and prior to a colon resection 10 years-ago, I asked doctors, nurses, x-ray techs, the pharmacist, anyone and everyone involved in local health care which surgeon they would use for their children or themselves. Additional research online confirmed their recommendation. You are so right that having an experienced surgeon is key and that the surgery needs to be tailored for each person!

You said your swallowing is no worse-does that mean it is no better?  Was hoping my swallow would get back to normal-is that possible?

Hi,i think motility issues are not yet fully understood,the esophagus is a more complicated organ than some might think with a lot of nerves and muscles involved.
I had no idea I even had a motility problem,never had a single episode of food sticking or if I did I was totally unaware.Only manometry showed it up.
I thought it was maybe drugs I was taking for my heart muscle condition which ive been taking from 16 years old,im now 48. Who knows? Barry
