New member needing help please

I had nissen fundo last December and started to have problems again in April. I had a gastroscopy yesterday when the doctor told me I have barretts, and the report says "however the "oblique pattern" of the gastric folders not seen" and also "the typical post surgery pattern was not seen. No recurrent hiatus hernia."

Can anyone please explain what this means. I asked the nurse when I read the report and she didn't know and just sent me home with a leaflet on barretts, and im worrying myself stupid over this.

We can all guess at what it means but only your doctor can properly explain what his report meant. I would make a follow up to discuss it soon.

Were you on ppi's before you found out you had Barrett's? Did they scope you before you had the nissen?

I tried all different types of ppis for the first year but nothing stopped the heartburn and that's why I had the fundo about a year ago. Not taken anything for the last 2 years.

I started getting chest pain and what felt like movements and breath interruption when lying down about 3 months after the op and its taken 7 months to see the surgeon again (nhs waiting time) so I am surprised to be diagnosed with barretts after having fundo which I thought was supposed to stop acid leaking, that's why I wanted to know what the oblique pattern thing meant, because it will probably be awhile before I get another appointment, ive got a barium next week.

I'm upset because I feel the fundo didn't work for me and the acid has caused further damage
