sinus and acid reflux

I went to an ENT yesterday, because I've been very ill with constant mucus in nose and throat. Been on 5 different antibiotics. No help. The doctor thinks it could be acid reflux and that it's even irritating my sinuses.Put me on nasal spray and omeprazole. Hope it works. Anyone else with this problem?

Lots of people can get asthma like symptoms from the rising acid/GERD. It's definitely a possibility that it could be acid reflux. Not everyone has the same acid reflux symptoms. Some like me who had chronic acid reflux never even got heart burn. The acidic mucus will make me clear my throat and cough a lot. Some people have symptoms similar to yours. Lots of people do have this problem.

How is the omeprazole working so far?

I had a ton of mucus in my sinuses for the past few years. I am now 5 weeks post-op (Nissen Fundoplication) and am as clear as can be. Prior the the surgery I had no idea that my reflux is what was causing it, but it has been a great perk from the surgery (albeit, unexpected). So, from my experience, reflux can be a cause of this.

Hi all! I'm feeling better today, so maybe the omeprazole is doing some good. I'm going to ask the doctor about Nissen Fundoplication, I've haven't heard of this. I have so much mucus. I'm to call the doctor Monday to see what my x-rays show. At least I feel better knowing something can be done for it. Happy Holiday's, Dee
