My story.. Help I'm at wits end

ent to bed oct 31 woke up Nov 1 st (fri) with the worst diarrhea I've ever had in my life. Went to the dr that Monday said it was a stomach bug and gave me pantoprozole which I thought was odd. Ended up in the ER that Saturday with severe low levels of potassium (1.8). Went to GI Dr on Monday they scheduled endoscopy and ct scan for that Thursday and Friday. Ct scan showed inflamed gallbladder but everything else was clear, endoscopy showed moderate inflammation on esophagus and mild of the stomach. They put me on omeprozale. Ended up in ER that weekend with again low potassium levels and chest pain. Over the next two weeks I lived off ensure and pb&j sandwiches. Finally after three weeks my appetite came back and my weight began to become normal again after losing 10 lbs. Was hospitalized January 11 for bacterial bronchitis and severe dehydration. Sunday they did a colonoscopy which came back normal. Monday they took out my gb. Returned home on Wednesday began eating normal almost immediately. Thought everything was going well until Saturday. My appetite took a major vacation. Have been to the er 4 times with this and all tests have came v back normal. They checked me for pe (which was scary) and dvt. I have no appetite at all. I have dropped to 122 lbs and I'm 6'4. Drs don't seem to worried because I'm able to drink liquids and soda but I'm terrified. Drs blame it on ibs but outside of loss of appetite I have NO ibs symptoms. My stool is perfectly normal. I am at my wits end and scared to death that they are missing something. It has put my anxiety and depression in massive overdrive which doesn't help any either. Any ideas? They have tested me for just abouteverything and I'm literally debilitated from this whole thing. I'm now 13 days post op from my lapo gb surgery. Thanks. Oh and prior to Nov1 st I have been completely healthy with no health issues prior. Matter of fact, only thing I've had in 10 years is a sinus infection during the peanut harvest.

I'm sorry to hear that you are having such a bad time. Did they take biopsies during your colonoscopy and endoscopy to check for things like Celiac or Crohns? What about a capsule endoscopy? I have Crohns and can tell you that the CT scans and MRIs never show it on me. How has your blood tests and stool tests been?

You have been through some major surgery with removal of gb and your body probably just realised it. Give it sometime. Also because of stomach problems, I suggest you lay off soda and fried foods. Try to eat blandly and more healthily and give yourself a few weeks . Stress only exacerbates stomach problems .

I would push for a capsule endoscopy. It will show what is going on in the are that endoscopy and colonoscopy don't reach. I agree with jamosca, lay of the soda and fried foods. Try a meal replacement shake. I make them using a non-dairy milk, almond butter and frozen fruit. My meal replacement powder of choice is Raw Meal because it's vegan and sugar free. You can also try soups and juicing. The liquids are easier on you system but can still get you the calories you need. Perhaps the doctor can give you an appetite stimulator. Maybe try another GI. I went through more than I can count over the course of 20 years until I was finally diagnosed with Crohns.

Eat more nuts, avocados, these are high in energy and fats. Peanut butter on bread. Purée the avocado into guacamole and spread or use as dip with health items . Sodas are empty calories and are really bad for you .
