Regurgitation and Toupet Fundo?

I have lots of problems with regurgitation as well. I don't know if it's going to work for you but I tie a thin material belt with a small buckle round the area applying pressure to the solar plexis. That has helped push my hernia back into position and helps considerably. I have noticed a lot of difference obviously lying down it might not help but vertically I notice I don't have so much of a food aftertaste or a constant pressure in my chest area especially after eating . I have a dysmotiliy problem but only very slight , the barium swallow and manometry test confirmed it but no hernia to been seen. There is definitely something wrong with the anatomy in that area as applied pressure definitely relieved the symptoms some what . Do you have a hernia ?

I had the Toupet 10 weeks ago and still have a little bit of an issue with things coming back up but not like it was prior to surgery.

I'm glad to hear that the surgery has gone well for you. My I ask if your LES was wide open and did you have constant regurgitation, and how often do you get it now? I hope that you're healing well, and back to enjoying food!

No I don't get burning with the fluids but I am on massive doses of ppi's, which obviously is not fun. I am however concerned about the amount of damage that weak acid, pepsin bile and gastric contents are now causing my gullet.

Hi GC1, sorry to hear you are still having such problems.

I can't remember, have I mentioned the diaphragmatic breathing technique to you before? This helps me a great deal, particularly when it feels like food is not moving on from my stomach. Try googling it or I can give more info here if you like.

My surgeon is going to go through all my manometry reports to see if there is a solution but I am not hopeful. DId you have a lot of regurgitation? And if so how is it now after the partial?

Phil - I removed the post. I am furious at Endostim actually at Chris Sutton! Last October I was approved for the endostim at a cost to myself of £150000 then another consultant told me not to have it at all, I cancelled the appointment as it was going to be a lot of money and I two polar opinions. Anyway I recently decided it was actually probably the best thing for me, though I now have mild upper dysphagia from the LPR, so I emailed Chris Sutton he said he would discuss it with the endostim team who were now coming over. I heard nothing, eventually I emailed his secretary who told me that I was no longer acceptable. I asked why, 4 times actually and not one of them has told me why- how completely and utterly unprofessional ! I just do not for the life of me understand why I am no longer suitable, this is not a clinical trial, but I am very disappointed at the lack of response, this would have been the best surgery for me and I would have been happy to pay to get my life back, so much for doctors wanting to help you

Hi Phil,
They may very well want bog standard cases - but I still find Chris Sutton's lack of professional courtesy abhorrent - you should be able to type an email and explain why you're no longer suitable. Not a good representation for the company, in fact quite the opposite!
