Does anybody have near or total voice loss from a painful voicebox?

I don't have pain do I do completely loose my voice, sometimes for days or weeks at a time.

I use email, texting and always carry a notepad and pen.

Hi Lobstaguy, I am six days out of a Nissen Fundoplication,toupee style. Before surgery people always thought I was sick with a cold because of my hoarse sounding voice. Today six days out I sound so much better. I have not had any regurgitation ,reflux, or hoarseness. One of the things that made my hoarseness worse was coffee and creamer or milk. But ultimately the large para esophageal hiatal hernia repair is what has so far made the difference. Hope this helped! Good luck
