Have not seen you on lately. WE miss your feedback and new sources of information. You are very vital to HealingWell and Linx club. You have helped so many people including myself. It would be a terrible shame if you were not posting anymore.

You are our inspiration through our various ups and downs with the linx. You have given so many hope since your Linx was so successful. Your research and knowledge has helped so very many when a lot of us would have given up.

Hello everybody. I'm also sharing here the LINX Journal I have been keeping on the Facebook page, just in case someone from here is not there also.

I had my LINX implanted by Prof. Bonavina on Thursday Feb. 6th in Milan. I was the first one he did that morning, was taken to the surgery room around 7.30am and woke up around 11. Prof. Bonavina told my parents who were waiting for me to come back up that all went well. I was told not to eat nor drink anything until 5 pm, when I started drinking water, and then I was given puréed apple and carrots about an hour later. The first spoonfuls gave me some spasms around the LINX area, so I stopped and started again half an hour later and it went down much much better. Lost of pain all over the place, I thought it would have taken me forever to get better, however the next day most of it was gone already.

First night post-op was okay, slept tons because of the anesthesia still in my body. Did not have breakfast but had a hearty lunch which went down slowly but fine. I was dismissed and went home where I had a cold smoothie and my back started hurting BAD. No major reflux so far though, just lots of air that's hard to get rid of.

Second night post-op wasn't so great however. Had mashed potatoes and fish fillet for dinner which went down slowly quite easily. Drank a glass of water before going to bed and started feeling very bloated. Good thing: lots of pressure under the LES but no reflux whatsoever. Bad thing: woke up a couple of hours later in pain, the bloating had gotten out of control and felt more like indigestion. Tried walking around for a bit but got no relief, and couldn't manage to get rid of the air. Eventually went back to bed and managed to fall asleep on my right side. I really got freaked out there for a few hours, I swear I had delirious thoughts - very typical of indigestion. Haven't had breakfast in the morning. Lunch went down nice and easy and so did dinner.

Third night was somehow better, less air, but still delirious thoughts, and shoulder/back pain - the former probably because of the anesthesia left overs, and the latter for the CO2 pumped during surgery. Eating feels fine though, have been introducing more solid and fatty foods and no reflux nor major dysphagia so far, just belching and NO BOWEL MOVEMENT which is driving me crazy. Started taking Movicol for that.

That's all for now. Testing tomatoes tomorrow...!! Had strong tea this morning and NO REFLUX so I'm the most hopeful I have been in a long time. I'd be happy to answer any question anybody might have.

DAY 4 - I might hold off the tomato a little longer, got a little reflux last night, nothing terrible but bad enough to have me sleep on the couch and get me a little discouraged at first. I am thinking the LINX might have been pushed open by all of the air and pressure built up under the LES and possibly caused by the lack of a bowel movement. Took a 20mg Nexium before going to bed and woke up around 4am with the same shoulder pain as the nights before, which I can tell is slowly going away. Fell back asleep horizontally in my bed around 5 and slept safe and sound. I had some bisquits and light tea in the morning and I am feeling okay now.

Hi all, as you may know, my particular interest is Endostim, rather than Linx.

Unfortunately, the 'Endostim New device for GERD/LPR' thread has gone the same way as the Linx threads.

For this reason I have accessed the Google Cache and saved most of the Endostim thread to my local hard drive. I can't seem to obtain page 2, but the rest is here.

I would like to start a new thread and upload it if I may?
There may be some formatting issues.
Perhaps Peter or the mods could let me know if this is okay, or if it would be better to leave it until things with JPT are resolved?

I am so sorry to hear this. :-( What symptoms were you experiencing before Linx and which ones still remain? Do you feel that the Linx procedure has made you worse? Who was the surgeon that performed the procedure?

Hi Denise, sorry you were unable to access the cache.

I assumed it was okay to upload when I hadn't heard back to the contrary, so a new thread is up already. Titled 'ENDOSTIM a new way to restore the anti-reflux barrier'.

If I have time later I could look at seeing what I can retrieve of the Linx Club threads. I was surprised how relatively quick it was to restore the Endostim pages. Perhaps let me know if this is required?

It did occur to me that jpt might have deleted the threads and perhaps HW should consider this possibility?
It might explain why only threads that he originated are affected?
Apart from my self-interest in Endostim, my motivation for restoring most of the Endostim thread is to counter the possibility of this kind of selfish unilateral action.
I hope I am wrong about this, as jpt has helped show many of us how the internet empowers ill people to help, and inform themselves.

Got my peptest back which was negative and had my barium today which showed nothing coming back up but the doc said the liquid had trouble going down and may need to stretch the linx but I will wait for my surgeon to decide this as I would imagine the doc has little experience with the linx.I believe I tore my capsule back in late December when i had excruciating pain as I am now having swallowing difficulties like before and the time scale is similar .
With the negative test and no return showing from the barium god knows why it still feels like I have heartburn ?
On another site a fellow Linxer had sibo which apparently has similar symptoms .
Have any of you guys had similar results and have gotten to the bottom of still having heartburn symptoms ?

As someone who is considering the Linx procedure, I'm very interested in hearing about your experience. What do you mean you "tore your capsule?" Is this a part of the Linx bracelet, as in, you think the bracelet has come apart?

Also, I'm sorry to hear you still feel like you have heartburn even after the procedure. That's discouraging, but for what it's worth, I've read somewhere that during the healing process, it's not uncommon to have symptoms that mimic heartburn, but that it eventually goes away. I hope this is what is happening to you, and that you will be feeling better soon.

Glad you were able to contact the doctor. My advice to you is to research several linx doctors before making a final decision. Vist a few in person and get a feel for knowledge, how many linx the doc preformed, and ask about their linx successes and failures.

Just my opinion.

Beach-girl, have you had post-op tests to rule out reflux or a biopsy to check for esophagitis or anything like that? Forgive me, I can't remember what you'd had done in your previous posts.
