Telling GERD from ulcer?

Ive recently tried lowering my PPI intake, and supplementing with DGL, I also am eating stage 1 gaps diet. Ive noticed I feel a lot better. But Im still getting this pain at bottom of esophegus when not taking my PPI. I was diagnosed with GERD, 14 years ago and have taken losec since.

Im wondering if the pain at the bottom is likely an ulcer as I seldom get reflux all way up to my throat. Its in bottom of my chest the pain.

Also if I had a bleeding ulcer, would I likely have signs, like throwing up blood or dark blood in stools? Ive not noticed these. Just pain.

thanks. yes i definitely think its at the LES junction as i dont get reflux into my throat. it feels like sternum but kind of at my back if that makes sense.

my GIs have never been able to help me, i have given up on that path. they just keep saying i have esophagitis. i want cures so am on the path to trying to cure myself . but yeah hopefully i can see them again within six months (public health)
