Look up globus hystericus... it has a lot of info about feeling a lump in the throat. My husband has had this for several years and had the nissen 3 weeks ago. He still has globus and has to wait for a while, but wants his doctor to dialate the area to help relax the feeling. He use to take big bites of food and swallow w/o much chewing, he said it stretched his throat and helped with the discomfort. I don't suggest doing that, however the lump in the throat feeling runs my husbands life.
Hope this helps, take care.
P.S He was prescribed amitryptaline, it is for anxiety, but his gastroenterologist said it helps with the globus too. It has not helped a great deal, but a little.
