How long after Nissen does shoulder pain last?

First, thanks for this great site! I wish I found it before surgery, I would not have been so woried no, terrified about it. I was still thinking of backing out when I was told to count to 2. So glad I didn't.
The day by day chronicle that some have posted has really been helpful.
I am 8 days out and everything is going pretty well, only one time have I had something stuck and that was only for a few moments scary though. Before NF I would always need water with my food to prevent it from getting stuck, now the water just sat on top of the food filling my throat further. Luckally on my way to the sink it all went down.
I do have some questions, first, I still have shoulder pain. It is mainly when I hiccup, which happens sometimes when I eat or drink. How long does this shoulder pain normally last?
Also, some parts of my belly are a little numb to the touch. Is that normal?
Finally, I have a small bump, I imagine that is where the wrap is. Is this just due to swelling and does it go away over time?

Thanks Bill, I was hoping that would be the case. I was told after the surgery to walk as much as possible and I agree that does help. The pillow idea sounds good. I'll try that.
