GERD and Laryngitis

Hi there, can anyone let me know how long usually GERD triggered laryngitis can last. I lost my voice for 4 days now. Is it treated like a regular laryngitis? Thank you.

You usually are put on high dose ppi's morning and night for 3 months and advised to stick to an acid free diet, this should give your throat time to heal.

An ENT will give you the best advice for your situation.

Thanks, it seems to be getting better slowly. i will chat with my Dr. I have to agree about the quote - really shocked that nothing better can be done with LES ... LYNX sounds like an exiting promise

It is back, thank you.
I had results of the biopsy - H.Pylori driven inflammation. Treating with HPAC and laryngitis has cleared, might have been bacterial/inf all together - nothing to do with GERD, hard to say.
My Dr is hopeful that acid reflux is everything to do with colonies of H.Pylori. I read online a lot of about GERD and HPylori - very interesting but uncertain correlations... I hope that GERD symptoms will improve after 10 days of aggressive antibiotic and PII treatment. I surely hope so.
