Does anyone know how long it takes for either one to cure and start feeling better again? I've been on prevacid 30 mg and ranitidine 300 mg I feel less naseus in the morning but how long does it take for me to feel normal again thanks

There isn't any set time. It could take weeks to months really. It depends on how your body reacts to the meds and if you are actively eliminating what started the whole issue.

Not everyone has good results with all the meds. Sometimes it may take trying a few different ones to get relief. Unfortunately people also can get lessened results from a med the longer they are on it.

along with that the meds can have some bad side effects and cause some other issues.

It also depends how bad the gastritis is, Ive had bouts thatngo after only a week, other time it can be longer. Its a pretty slow thing to recover from, if I reecall though even when I had my worst bout after a couple of months my stomach felt perfectly fine as long as I was careful what I put in it.

If you havent started feeling better in a couple of weeks though I would go back to the dr and ask to try a different medication as you should definitely notice the difference by then, even if you arent back to normal.

I know the feeling. hang in there, it does get better eventually, not much you can do except try and distract yourself from it, play some computer games or watch some films.

Thanks Andy I appreciate your support I've been taking prevacid 30 every morning and ranitidine at night since Dec. 26, 2013 but it's making me lightheaded or dizzy I'm also on lexapro so I don't what is going on maybe from ranitidine?

I'm praying every day Andy for it to get better I have a 4 year old with autism which needs me a lot and a 3 year old daughter.

I also know the feeling and it is debilitating. If the Prevacid isn't working I'd try and go with nexium. Nexium 40mg is the only thing
That worked for me. Also I do dgls, slippery elm, and aloe to help soothe it. I have hietal hernia which causes me gerd and gastritis.
