I have suffered from silent GERD for about 4 years, I had no idea what was wrong with me until I recently went to the doctors. He put me on 20mg Famotidine (Pepcid AC) twice daily and I feel way better. But now I have a stuffy, runny nose, heavy sneezing, and slightly, barely noticeable, itchy eyes. Is this a possible that this is a sign of a healing esophagus/nasal? Could it be that I have an allergy to Pepcid AC? Another theory I have is that I had a cold or allergy all along but all my bodily resources were being depleted trying to protect my esophagus and now that I don't have reflux symptoms, these allergy symptoms are finally showing themselves. Maybe I just happened to get sick at the same time my reflux went away, it is winter after all. Has anyone on here gone through the same thing or am I the only one? smhair

I developed sinusitis in dec and it has not gone away yet. Do you have sinus headaches?

It comes and goes, they have been very mild and short lived.

This is interesting. I am also on Pepcid AC twice a day and I sometimes find myself sneezing a lot and have some other mild allergy symptoms. I do have allergies as well, but I sometimes notice it after eating. I have only been diagnosed with GERD, I do not seem to have too many LPR symptoms. The H2 Blokers involve Histamine somehow, I wonder if that is part of it? When I was on PPIs, I do not remember having the sneezing/allergy symtoms.
