Just had the Linx procedure! Have Questions..

I can be added to the Linx club! I just had it implanted yesterday. The worst part about it was actually the nausea from the anesthesia. I'm in pain today, it mainly feels like I did a million crunches. I have some questions for those of you who can remember what they felt the second day:

Burping: I have been able to burp, actually a lot. Each time I drink some water or eat a bit, I notice I burp some air. But I'm actually worried because does this allow acid to come up?

Irritation in the esophagus that feels like burning: My throat hurts from the tube that they stuck down my throat. But I can't tell if when I swallow and it burns, it is heartburn or not. I actually have been burping a little bit and noticed a little bit of a burn and an worried that I'm getting heartburn...

What if I need another bead if it's too loose? I've been worried what if it's not tight enough, then can they add another bead?

I just really want this procedure to work and after everything I went through, I hope it did and I guess I need to give it some time. I will read through what others have posted in their journals to get an idea of what they went through this early on in the recovery process.

Any advice from others?

All of this is normal. There are a few journals of Linx recovery that you could read up to gain some confidence.

Human body doesn't like surgery but it does recover remarkably given sufficient time. So, just wait it out.

If I recall, your esophagus is not normal strength, correct ? If it is not, I would expect quite a bit of dysphagia (getting stuck). And YES, this will last a while (3 months). Mine was weak and I still have some mild dysphagia, 4 months out.

You CAN experience heartburn immediately after the surgery.
I had heartburn after going off of medication immediately after Linx. So, I went back on them and quit them about 2.5 months later. Its 6 weeks since quitting them and I don't have any heartburn.

I dealt with the recovery by imagining that I did not even get the surgery, by setting my expectations at 0. When I finally went off the medication and everything worked, it was a nice bonus.

I know that each person is different in their recovery. I'm getting sharp pains when swallowing right now so it's pretty frustrating. I'm hoping that it will get better over time. I think I have had some reflux a couple times, but I'm trying to not get discouraged. Do you ever get reflux anymore?
